We are pleased to announce our acceptance into the inaugural class of Hustle Den, a start-up incubator, located in the historic East Liberty neighborhood of Pittsburgh.

Out of 150 applicants, Allegheny Organics was chosen by Thrill Mill (the non-profit behind Hustle Den) as one of twenty start-ups to participate in the incubator’s first class, in which we will receive access to a cooperative workspace, mentorship and much more.

Allegheny Organics has some great ideas and programs cooking that we can’t wait to accelerate as a part of Hustle Den!

Among other things, stay tuned for upcoming composting workshops near you, as well as updates to an expanding service area to allow even more households, apartments, small businesses, and community events to reduce their waste and benefit their communities.

We are so excited for this opportunity, and thank you for your ongoing support.

Here’s to a successful 2013!

Hey Everyone!

We had such a blast at the Great American Water Balloon Fight last weekend!

We received some great exposure and met some awesome people (…and threw some water balloons, as well!)

With the help from our friends, Allegheny Organics had a tent displaying ways to compost as well as some AO information and merch.

After the fight, with the gracious help of the fight participants, we collected the majority of 100,000 water balloons from the field.

As of now, we are happy to report they balloons have made it to their special home – their very own bin together with other organic matter such as dead leaves, twigs, grass clippings, and straw.

Stay tuned for updates as they begin to decompose!

**Special thanks to:**

Mr. Smalls Theatre for providing the tent

Construction Junction for providing the bins

A-Graphix for the AO t-shirts
